A £3m project to turn the disused Full Street magistrates' court into offices is set to begin this year.

Derby City Council has been in negotiations with site owner Wilson Bowden to buy and refurbish the grade two listed building, with the project paid for from the council's regeneration fund.

Work is expected to be finished in 2014, with the aim of appealing to small businesses, though the council has yet to apply for the necessary planning consents.
