DERBYSHIRE food producers will be showcased at a fair.

People will be able to sample produce at the Calke Abbey Fine Food Fair on July 5.

The fair brings together producers from Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Staffordshire, all within a 30-mile radius of Calke Abbey.

There will be a variety of stalls offering everything from puddings to pies and beer to bread.

Up and coming British chef Richard McGeown, who trained under such illustrious names as Marco Pierre White and Gordon Ramsay, will be on hand to demonstrate what to do with some of the produce on show in live cooking demos.

Property manager Stewart Alcock said: "All of the stallholders have been selected based on their proximity to Calke Abbey and the quality of the products they supply.

"We have a mix of products on show and there will be plenty of samples to try so the event should be a great addition to a day at Calke Abbey."

Producers exhibiting work include Bittersweet Chocolate from Melbourne and Cowhouse Dairy ice cream from Belper.
