Cricket: Captain Rogers calls on players to bounce back quickly from loss
THERE will be no time for brooding for Derbyshire as their unbeaten start to the season in the LV County Championship came to an end at Canterbury yesterday.
They threw their kit in the van and headed for South Croydon for a Pro40 League match against Surrey at Whitgift School tomorrow (1.45pm), followed by the start of their next Championship fixture on Thursday (11am).

But the Derbyshire players were in a sullen mood on the drive after allowing a strong overnight position to slip through their fingers in the defeat by Kent.
"We let ourselves down," said skipper Chris Rogers (pictured). "We shouldn't have been bowled out, I think, without getting 30 more runs and we just didn't create enough pressure when we bowled on a fourth-day wicket that probably was offering us a bit more than we got out of it.
"We kept fighting to the end and made them work all the way but we'll look back on this game with a fair bit of regret and think things should perhaps have gone differently.
"Give credit to them, they are a couple of England players who got hundreds and took the game away from us.
"It's more than likely we would lose a game at some stage but the disappointment is more from the fact that we really matched up with perhaps the best side in the competition and at the beginning of the day, we felt we were favourites."
Ian Hunter and Nantie Hayward were the non-playing members of the Derbyshire 13 at Canterbury and the two are likely to come into the reckoning against Surrey as head of cricket John Morris looks to keep his bowlers fresh in this hectic period.
Rogers said it may be a good thing that his side has the chance to get over their Kent disappointment quickly and still believes they have the ability to bounce straight back.
"You have to get back on the horse and we're still playing good cricket," he added.
"I just said to the guys that I'm not completely disappointed, because I thought we played a pretty good game and, up to after lunch on the fourth day, we had control of the match."
