Cricket: Hayward arrives to join Derbyshire
Nantie Hayward flew in from South Africa this morning to start his Derbyshire career.
After receiving his visa through the post yesterday, the Proteas Test fast bowler was quickly on a flight to Heathrow and arrived at the County Ground at just after 10am.
Hayward was signed by Derbyshire to take the place of another South African international bowler, Charl Langeveldt, who was forced to pull out of his second season with the county because of a shoulder injury.
The 32-year-old, who has played 16 Tests and 21 one-day internationals, is in line to make his debut in Tuesday's Twenty20 Cup match against Durham at the County Ground.
See tomorrow's Derby Telegraph for a full interview with Derbyshire's new signing.
