GIRLS from a school football team in Allestree are set to receive expert tuition from one of the country's top women players ahead of a national competition.

Steph Houghton, Team GB's leading goalscorer at last summer's Olympic Games, will visit Woodlands School prior to the girls' appearance in the Northern Regional final of the npower Football League Girls' Cup.

The girls, who were representing Derby County Under-13s, beat competition from 10 other schools in the area finals in Nottingham to progress to the Northern Regional final.

And, if they are triumphant again, they will get the chance to play on the hallowed turf of Wembley Stadium before this year's Johnstone's Paint Trophy final on April 7.
