Cycling their way to big contest win
A CHADDESDEN primary school has pedalled its way into first place in this year's Derby Bike to School challenge.
At Meadow Farm Primary School, 76% of pupils cycled to school between March 2 and 13.
Schools taking part were asked to submit photographs and their daily bicycle park counts to the city council.
Meadow Farm will receive £150 of sports equipment and all the children who took part will be entered into a prize draw to win a brand new bike.
Borrow Wood Infant School in Spondon was second with almost 66% of children taking part. They will all go into the draw too.
Cycle Derby support officer Ruth Sadler said: "Many schools are continuing to see high levels of daily cycling to school, which is our key aim.
"Cycling to school contributes to physical activity."
