Cyclist injured in collision with tree

A CYCLIST has suffered a suspected fractured collar bone after colliding with a tree and slipping down a bank.

The accident happened at around 11am this morning in Coton Road, Walton-On-Trent.

Police say the man collided with the tree which had fallen into the road and went over the handlebars of his bicycle.

An ambulance crew transferred him to hospital where he is being treated for his injuries.

No other vehicles were involved and the Highways Agency have been asked to remove the fallen tree.
