A FATHER whose skull was fractured in an attack has relived his ordeal by watching CCTV footage of the incident for the first time.

Vince Jago, 35, was in hospital for four weeks after he was knocked unconscious in Sadler Gate, Derby.

His attacker, Phillip Millward, was caught three weeks later. He was jailed for 18 months.

Nearly a year on from the attack, plasterer Mr Jago has yet to return to work.

He hoped by watching the footage he could prove to himself he never provoked Millward. He said: "I needed closure to move on with my life."

    “@ Mark.

Big ugly policemen are a thing of the past. I spoke to a WPC the other week whilst in town. She stood just over 5 foot tall and didnt even look old enough to vote. It's all about ticking the right boxes these days.”

“Well its in or near the same area of town as Adrian Haugheys assault. An Alcohol related incident again. The Police should be constantly on foot at all times patrolling it.We need hi vis patrols in these areas. We need old fashioned Derby Borough, BIG UGLY Policemen patrolling on foot, no cars, always around, with a staff in there hands.”

    “Crime pays in the UK.

Fiddle your taxes and they'll hammer you into oblivion. Half kill someone in the street and you'll be lucky to get about 9 months at a local health spa/prison.

Incidents like this are the norm. But that's to be expected when you have a city council that has presided over an alcohol licencing policy that means for pubs and clubs Derby has one of the most saturated (out of control) city centres.

    Nice one! ... not”
