PENSIONER Alan Woolley's picture of a preserved Deltic locomotive travelling through Duffield is one of the latest entries in our What I Love About Derbyshire competition.

Alan, 72, who lives in Chapel Street, Kilburn, took the photograph in July 2011.

He said the image captures beautifully why he likes the county so much.

Alan said: "What I like about Derbyshire is that, as a rail enthusiast, there are lots of good, local vantage points for photo opportunities."

We have already received dozens of entries for our competition but we still want more. To enter, e-mail your images to photocomp@ derbytelegraph.co.uk with your name, age, address and phone number. Also state whether or not you are in full-time education.

State where and why the photo was taken and, in 20 words or less, complete the sentence: "What I love about Derbyshire is..." The closing date is March 21.
