Dan hoping to keep his place
DAN Redfern made a compelling case for a regular place in the Derbyshire team for the rest of the season with his outstanding unbeaten 57 against Yorkshire last night.
After arriving back at the County Ground following his A levels and international duty with England Under-19s, the 18-year-old gave a reminder of his huge potential.
Redfern has seen how Paul Borrington has been given the chance to keep his place through his performances and says he knows last night's half-century has to be only the beginning.
"Paul has done really well," Redfern said. "That's what I need to do now.
"Just because I've got one 50 not out, that doesn't mean I'm in the side for the rest of the season, so I need to keep getting the scores and maybe winning us a game."
