Dancers on tour from Osnabrück
A CARNIVAL dance group is among those coming to Derby as part of a tour party from the city's German twin city of Osnabrück.
The Grün-Weisse-Garde will be performing across Derbyshire this month.
They will be at the Camra Beer Festival opening ceremony on the Market Place next Wednesday, July 8, at 6.30pm and at the Assembly Rooms at 8pm.
On the following day they will take part in a joint performance with the Ripley Morris Men at the Royal Oak, Ockbrook, from 8pm.
On Saturday, July 11, they will be at Buxton Carnival for the parade at 2pm and on stage from 4pm.
And, on the same day, they will be at the Royal Standard Brewery Tap, Derby, at 8pm.
Alexandra Ward, Osnabrück's envoy to Derby, said: "The dancers perform in Osnabrück about 30 times each year.
"They are well known in Osnabrück and are the first German carnival dancers to visit Derby."
In total there will be 49 visitors in the group.
