STAFF at Derby dealership Pentagon are celebrating after being presented with a highly coveted Vauxhall Customer Excellence Award.

The yearly award by the British manufacturer recognises and rewards top-performing retailers for the quality of service they give to customers, using their personal feedback as the sole judging criteria.

To mark the accolade, Vauxhall marketing director Peter Hope presented Dave White and his team at the Pentagon Island dealership with their trophy.

Dave said: "We're delighted with this achievement and would like to thank all of our customers for representing us in such a positive light in Vauxhall's satisfaction surveys and therefore helping us to secure this incredible award.

The Derby retailer was one of the 53 Vauxhall retailers in the country to have the highest combined scores from Vauxhall's purchase satisfaction and service satisfaction surveys, which was calculated at the end of 2012.

Customers are invited to take part in both surveys after they buy a new Vauxhall and after they get their vehicle serviced for the first or second time. More than 40,000 responses to each survey were collected by Vauxhall last year, helping to generate an accurate picture of customer experience.

Mr Hope said: "At Vauxhall, we recognise that Pentagon Derby has gone that extra mile to help our customers and make their purchasing and servicing experiences as positive as possible.

"The award is a recognition of the hard work that's gone into their consistent standards and all-round high performance."

Pentagon Derby now has a plaque marking its success on display in the showroom and a special logo will be placed next to its name in the dealer locator on the Vauxhall website. Staff have also been awarded commemorative badges.
