MOTORISTS faced delays on the A50 after a car pulling a trailer jack-knifed and hit a bank, spilling debris on the road.

One lane of the westbound carriageway, between Hilton and Foston, was closed while police awaited recovery of the vehicle.

The accident, involving a Fiat Tempra, happened at about 3.35pm yesterday.
