Delays expected as £1.2 million roadworks due to start in Derby
Motorists have been warned of delays on a section of Derby's inner ring road over the coming months as vital maintenance work costing £1.2 million begins.
Work on St Alkmund's Way will start on Monday, January 21, and is expected to last until June.
A city council statement said: "Lane closures will be in place in both directions, and motorists should expect delays heading towards the A52 and exiting the city via King Street.
"There will also be limited night off peak closures for a short time and diversions will be put in place."

“From a motorists view, roadworks seem to go on forever, with little visible progress, and the hours of actual work each week being only a fraction of the 168 hours available.”

“After all, King St hasn't had roadworks and major delays for quite a few months now .. don't want people getting used to cars actually moving. And now the Allestree bus route goes along inner ring road bus passengers will be hit too”
