THE M1 southbound in north Leicestershire has re-opened following a fire involving an HGV carrying chemicals.
The Highways Agency confirmed that all three lanes are now open and the burnt out vehicle has been recovered.
Fire crews left the scene, between junction 23 at Loughborough and junction 22, at Coalville, at 2.15pm.
Police and Highways Agency staff have cleared cleared up and there are only minor delays, a Highways Agency spokesman said.
A spokesman for Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service said the chemical was an irritant and there were no dangers to the public.
