Derby Women's Centre saved after it secures nearly £500k of funding
THE Derby Women's Centre has had its future secured after being awarded £499,999 of funding from the Big Lottery Fund..
The centre, based in Leopold Street, Derby, will increase the number of people it supports to 3,500 each year with the help of the money.
The centre, which works with men and women, will also now start to give counselling to people who perpetrate domestic violence.
Sally Acquire, Derby Women’s Centre, said: "Funding from the Big Lottery Fund will enable Derby Women’s Centre to become a unique provider of this type of support in the local area and will be invaluable in protecting our future as an organisation over the next few years."
