Mr Burns said: "It's amazing to be holding the premiere in Derby.

"It was always going to be the case with the film's connections here.

"It'll be an amazing night and is linked to a charity fund-raiser too with collections for Spinal Research happening all night.

"I can't wait to show all the people who have seen the film being made the final product.

"I think they'll be blown away."

Stars of the films also include Sean Brosnan, the son of ex-James Bond star Pierce, Julian Glover, from Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade, Sean Pertwee, famous for his role in Equilibrium, and Bianca Bree who appeared in action film Six Bullets.

It is hoped they may attend the premiere.

Adam Buss, director of audience engagement at Quad, said: "UFO and Dominic Burns are both fantastic success stories for Derby and fit with our ethos of being rooted in Derby but speaking to the world.

"Dominic has worked with us on a number of events including our regular 'Crossing the Streams' '80s themed film nights and we are really proud to celebrate his latest success story.

"We are committed to showing the best cinema from around the world and wherever possible celebrate the work of Derby-based film makers, of which Dominic is a shining example."

The film was shot last summer across the city, including locations such as Allestree's Park Farm.

The film screens at Quad for the general public from Saturday, December 15, until Thursday, December 20.

Tickets for the film are £7.60, with concessions costing £6.
