Derby occult centre's Easter opening 'sinister'
A SENIOR church leader has criticised the planned Easter Sunday opening of an occult centre in Derby as "sinister".
The venue – the first of its kind in the city – will be in either Albert Street or Victoria Street but the man behind it refuses to reveal exactly where until its opening day.

But Father Tim O'Sullivan, priest at St Mary's Church, in Bridge Gate, Derby, said: "There is something strange – if not sinister – to have it opening on that day.
"For us, Easter Sunday is very important, even more so than Christmas.
"It is about the Resurrection and celebrating our Jesus Christ.
"I am anxious when I come across things like this. During my 50 years as a priest, I have seen people become involved in this kind of thing. It is always the most vulnerable that are targeted, with young people especially because they are curious.
"People get in too deep and don't know how to get themselves out if it.
"People are, of course, free to worship as they please but I am worried about the impact the centre may have."
The occult centre plans to offer various services including seances and exorcisms and will sell ceremonial daggers alongside other materials associated with the occult.
The man behind it is Magus Lynius Shadee, self-proclaimed "King of All Witches and practising occultist".
He said: "There is nothing negative in the occult but people often take it that way. We are planning on opening the centre on Easter Sunday because of the Resurrection of Christ.
"The people that are vulnerable are taken in by the organised religions. There is nothing wrong with churches, they are giving and loving but they deceive and offer something that is not real, like a cake with no substance."
Mr Shadee, who lives in Normandy, France, where he runs another occult centre, became involved in the occult when he was growing up in London, aged 11.
He says he studied it in various books, including texts in the British Museum, before moving to Paris where he continued his passion.
In 2009 he had planned to open an occult centre in Cambridge but instead threw his efforts into campaign to become an MP for the city. He failed.
Mr Shadee says he would be than happy to perform what he calls a "materialisation" – summoning a ghost – to try to prove his critics wrong.
He said: "I would make a ghost appear in a church to prove to people what I do. Of course people would say that I am simply tricking them but I do not preach, like the church; I prove."
Mr Shadee hopes the centre will be the start of a countrywide franchise.
He chose Derby because of its reputation for paranormal activity.
He said: "If you are a miller, you go where the flour is.
"Derby has many spirits and in the surrounding area there are some very interesting places."

“Too much about the story doesnt add up, the bloke's name, his 'title', the fact that if he was genuine he would know that Easter is also the pagan festival Ostara which would signify new birth and beginnings - a prime time to open a shop selling pagan items. Also, ceremonial daggers are called 'Athame's' - I think he would have got the name right. It certainly isn't something that the pagan residents of Derby would welcome with open arms.
It's quite simple to check, the council will know whether a shop on albert or victoria streets are being refitted and when they will open, it's hardly something you can keep a secret until opening day. I don't know if it is an elaborate PR exercise for something else but there are plenty of opportunities for people interested in spiritualism in Derby already in a much safer environment, there certainly isn't a commercial interest even Felix hasn't been able to generate that beyond ghost walks and evenings at the gaol.”

“At last! My curses have been answered! I can now breath a sigh of relief knowing that Derby has opened its doors to Satanism which will mean the end of all Godly religions in Derby. I can't wait for the day the black flag of Satanism sits high on Jamia Mosque just like the black flag of Shariah was promised for the roof of 10 Downing Street! Mind you, the evil that is committed by most Mullahs and their followers would make Satan himself blush and reach for the camera!
On a serious note, you will find that most of the visitors to this centre will be repressed Muslims with nothing better to do other than prove the existence of Satan so that they can justify the existence of their God and their prophet's fight with the Dajjal (Arabic for Anti-Christ). I feel sorry for the host of this centre - all those beards and not a goat in sight!”

“It seems to me that both Shadee and O'Sullivan are in need of psychiatric help. Why anyone would listen to their mouthings is beyond comprehension. Leave Shadee (named appropriately) alone and he will disappear.”

“I hope he's just barking mad, he sounds like a nasty piece of work, according to this news report he 'conjured up' a demon in a Cambridge church to psychologically attack vulnerable church-goers. It seems that his plans to open an occult centre in Cambridge never amounted to anything...

“"Hmmmmm - pursuading them to blow themselves up by promising them 70 virgins in the afterlife ?"
It's surely no coincidence that the number of suicide bombings has decreased since SuBo came into the public awareness... ;)”

“"The man behind it is Magus Lynius Shadee, self-proclaimed "King of All Witches".... and a complete looney tune by the sounds of it, still I'm sure some gullible souls will no doubt be taken in by it!”

“What could be more sinister than asking people to believe in something unproven, but threaten them with Hell unless they repent?
Utter tosh, the lot of it.”
