Derbyshire CCC to bat on first day against Northants in Barbados
DERBYSHIRE are to bat on the first day of their match against Northants at North Stars.
They were hoping to field first but captain Wayne Madsen lost the toss and Northants skipper Stephen Peters put them in.
That means Dan Redfern will not play, as he rests the finger he dislocated yesterday. Madsen will also sit it out as he recovers from a groin injury.
Derbyshire have named 13 batsmen for the first day: Godleman, Borrington, Durston, Hughes, Whiteley, Wainwright, Clare, Johnson, Poynton, Burgoyne, Groenewald, Palladino, Turner.

The match was due to start at 10am local time but Northants arrived late after an unplanned tour of the island and so the start was put back to 10.30am (2.30pm GMT).
