Four Derbyshire buildings shortlisted for top architect award

FOUR of the 10 East Midlands buildings shortlisted for the Royal Institute of British Architects 2013 Awards are in Derbyshire.

The buildings that have been shortlisted are:

Mark Jermy, chairman of RIBA East Midlands, said: “It is fantastic that these 10 East Midlands projects have been recognised for their design excellence and shortlisted for RIBA Awards.

"It’s also important to see the innovative and high-quality work of our regional architects being celebrated in this way.”

All shortlisted buildings will be assessed by a regional jury with the winners of an RIBA East Midlands Award announced on the evening of Wednesday 12 June 2013 at Millennium Point in Birmingham.

Regional winners will also be considered for a highly-coveted RIBA National Award in recognition of their architectural excellence, which will be announced at the same event.

The shortlist for the RIBA Stirling Prize for the best building of the year will be drawn from the RIBA National Award-winning buildings. The 2013 RIBA Stirling Prize will be announced on Thursday 26 September 2013 in London.
