Derbyshire donkey centre opens its gates to visitors
ANIMAL lovers can get up close and personal with the friendly donkeys at Derbyshire Donkey Sanctuary's open day on Sunday.
The centre, which is part of the Donkey Sanctuary international animal welfare charity, is at Flagg, near Buxton, and throws open its doors for the free event.

Derbyshire’s branch of the Donkey Sanctuary is near Buxton.
Visitors can meet the staff and the rescued and unwanted donkeys.
Chris Pile, who runs the centre, says: "The donkeys really enjoy all the extra fuss and attention and it gives visitors an insight to our work. It's a lovely day for all.
All 2kg or smaller bags of Beech Chippings, Orchid Bark, Aspen Bedding or Tortoise Pellets...

The centre provides permanent refuge to a small number of donkeys who are elderly or have long-term medical conditions.
The centre is open to the public six times per year and hosts regular training courses for donkey owners.
The Donkey Sanctuary Derbyshire Centre is on the A515 Ashbourne Road near the Bull i' th' Thorn Inn, six miles south of Buxton.
