Derbyshire festivals pick up national awards

ORGANISERS of music festivals across the county are celebrating after picking up honours at last night's UK Festivals Awards,

Bloodstock Open Air Festival, which takes place at Catton Park, Walton-on-Trent, each August, was named the best medium-sized festival and the Y Not Festival, at Pikehall at Matlock, gained the best small festival award.

The annual Download Festival at Donington Park had the best festival line-up in 2012 according to the judges and its main organiser John Probyn, Line Nation chief operating officer, was given a lifetime achievement award.
