DERBYSHIRE supporters have the chance to follow their team into Division One in 2013 – at 2012 prices.

The county club have frozen the price of membership until the end of January, as well as announcing two new initiatives aimed at encouraging more supporters to come to the County Ground and help build on the progress Derbyshire made in their promotion season this year.

The price freeze will benefit those who buy their memberships before the end of January, with increases of up to £15 to take effect after February 1.

Supporters can save even more money under the county's new Ambassador scheme, which offers £50 cash back to any member who recruits a new member for 2013.

There will also be a new six-pack ticket on sale for those who would like to join the club but are only able to see a limited number of matches.

Junior membership is free for under-16s who register before February 1 and discounts are available for students, senior citizens and those living more than 20 miles away from the County Ground.

The membership drive hopes to raise more money to support head coach Karl Krikken in his team building as Derbyshire tackle Division One cricket in the LV County Championship for the first time since 2000.

"Our members are being rewarded for their loyal support, which is great, and the Ambassador initiative provides the opportunity to make a real difference by bringing in crucial revenue for the strengthening of the team as we aim for a successful season," said Krikken.

"Gaining promotion as champions was a great effort by everyone connected with the club. Now we, more than ever, need to pull together as a county, show how proud we are to be Derbyshire and take on the First Division without fear."

An ordinary membership of the club costs £160 until January 31 and £175 thereafter. Business membership (two transferable passes) is £320 (£350 from February 1).
