Dick back as a player as Sports upset the odds in cup romp
MANAGER Dick Pratley made a surprise return as a player as Mickleover Sports upset the odds to knock Lincoln United out of the Evo-Stik League Doodson Cup.
Pratley was one of only two substitutes depeleted Sports could name, along with his assistant Colin Hoyle, and came on in the 87th-minute.
Mickleover, turning in a battling display, dominated the first half without being able to find a way through.
The second half was a different story, though, once Martin Smythe had been brought down in the penalty area after 55 minutes and got up to score the spot-kick.

It was 2-0 to Sports after 75 minutes when Brad Munn was played through by emergency striker Tom Land and chipped Lincoln goalkeeper Phil McGann from outside the box.
There could have been a nervy finish for Mickleover when Lincoln pulled one back after 85 minutes, Tow Cowan breaking through after some sloppy defensive play.
But Sports restored their two-goal advantage two minutes later when John Guy burst forward from left-back and fired in a shot which McGann fumbled before Smythe tapped in the rebound.
Munn collected a poor back-pass to make it 4-1 deep into stoppage time.
