Discover the real Clough
FOOTBALL stars of the past have joined forces to create a tribute show to Brian Clough.
Brian Clough's Way is an opportunity to spend an evening in the company of some of the Rams' greatest ever players.
Dave Mackay, Roy McFarland, John McGovern, Roger Davies and John O'Hare will recount stories of their days at the Baseball Ground and re-live that golden era of the early 70s when Derby County were the champions of England under the leadership of Brian Clough, whose character will be played by Colin Tarrant.
Brian Clough's Way is the brainchild of Nottingham Forest legend Tony Woodcock, who said: "We had the idea because many former Brian Clough players have been asked to do things like after dinner speeches and have been reluctant to do that in the past.
"But, particularly with the Damned United (starring Michael Sheen as Clough, right) out, we have been asked to do newspaper interviews or quotes in books. We thought we would love to portray the true stories. This will be stuff coming from the horse's mouth, the real deal about everything that happened in the past. And Mrs Clough (Brian's widow Barbara) and the family have given these evenings their blessing."
Tickets for the Derby show on July 2 are £22.50. Call 01332 255800. There will be a Nottingham show at The Theatre Royal with a Forest theme on June 5. Tickets are £20. Call 0115 989 5555.
