Double disaster for Dave after the police elections
SO two verdicts on David Cameron were given at the polls. Firstly, the thumbs-down for the police and crime commissioner election that he doggedly pursued for his own glory, wasting taxpayers' money.
And secondly, the handsome majority for Labour, given by the people of Corby, that reflects most of the country's feelings on his heartless Government, his leadership and his coalition puppies.
Now councils are being forced to turn off street lighting at night to save money.
One hour and ten minutes after the polls opened, I was warmly greeted and told that I was the first to cast my vote by four tellers sitting twiddling their thumbs, and we laughingly agreed that's how it might well be all day.

So I ask, totalling all the polling halls used, with each one heated and lit up for over 14 hours, plus all the tellers and counters, what will be the extra cost to councils?

“That's great barmyburke; the Dad's Army of politics will be about as much use against the EU as Capt Mainwaring and his platoon would have been against Hitler!”
