Dreamliner flights set to resume within ‘weeks’
AIRCRAFT maker Boeing has said it expects flights of its 787 Dreamliner plane will restart within ‘weeks’
All 50 Dreamliners, including those powered by Derby-built Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engines, were grounded earlier this year after batteries on some planes emitted smoke.

Boeing said it had found a fix for the problem and had been carrying out tests on the proposed solution.
The news comes after the US airline regulator this week approved Boeing’s plan to redesign the lithium-ion batteries used on the aircraft.

Ray Connor, president of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, said he expected the Dreamliner to be back in service in a matter of weeks rather than months.
