Early trouble for Derbyshire
There was just enough time between the rain for
Derbyshire to get into trouble on the first morning of their LV
County Championship match against Leicestershire at the County
Ground.
Only 8.2 overs were bowled in the morning session and
Derbyshire were 19-2 after being put in to bat.
It was soon clear the decision to bowl was the right one, with
plenty of swing and decent bounce and in the second over after
a first rain break, Dan Birch was beaten by away swing from
Nadeem Malik and caught behind for three at 6-1.
Three overs later, Tom Smith, on loan from Lancashire, found a
beauty to take the shoulder of Dominic Telo's bat and he was
caught at second slip by Boeta Dippenaar for eight at 15-2.
