Enjoy medieval festive magic at Haddon Hall
HADDON Hall, one of Derbyshire's finest historic houses, will be transported back to its origins this Christmas with a programme of festive events celebrating its heritage.
The medieval house will glow with traditional decorations, lighting and the warmth of big, open fires.
On December 8 and 9, the Tudor Group will entertain visitors and give an atmospheric taste of Tudor life as they make their authentic preparations for Christmas, including seasonal food and festive merry-making.
Christmas music and carols will be performed by local choirs and musicians during the following weekend, December 15 and 16. Performances of The Night Before Christmas by John Hester will also take place on this weekend. This magical story with Santa and his naughty elf will be performed in the State Bedroom at 11am, 1pm and 3pm and children can meet Father Christmas afterwards and receive a gift. An additional charge of £5 per child applies.
