Ex-Atomic Kitten star Kerry Katona to film TV show in Derby next month
EX-ATOMIC Kitten star Kerry Katona will visit Derby next month to film part of a new documentary which explores mental health issues.
The TV celebrity, who has bipolar disorder, will join an art workshop which has been set up by a 29-year-old woman from Derby, who battles with borderline personality disorder.
Sarah, who does not want to be fully identified, was approached by Channel 5 after she shared her story in the Derby Telegraph last month.
The documentary, called My Secret Past, will follow Kerry as she explores her journey through mental illness.
Filming will take place at Artcore on Charnwood Street, Derby, in April, and the programme will be aired on TV later.
Sarah said: "Six weeks ago, Wendy Roberts from the Derby Telegraph wrote an article about my experience of living with borderline personality disorder.
"As a result of this article, Channel 5 got in touch with me asking if I would consider being filmed for a part of a documentary they are making about mental health issues.
"It is called 'My Secret Past'. In the documentary, they are filming Kerry Katona exploring her journey through mental illness and, as part of that, they are filming her meeting other people who have had similar issues.
"I am thrilled to be involved."
