PUPILS at Derby's Bemrose Community School missed lessons after a power cut.

Staff arriving at the Uttoxeter New Road school yesterday found there was no heating or lighting and notified pupils that the school was closed.

By mid-morning, some power had been restored and pupils due to take exams were notified they should be in school by 1pm. A spokeswoman said pupils would be informed if the power was not back to normal on Monday.
