Family fun in the sun with great reader rewards
READERS eager for family days out during the school holidays can seize some credit-crunch busting summer deals – courtesy of the Derby Telegraph.
The paper has teamed up with some of the county and country's top tourist attractions to provide readers and their families with a fun-filled summer.
Free admission for children, two-for-one ticket deals and special discounts are just some of the offers available in the paper during the next few weeks.
Among the attractions involved in the offer are Drayton Manor Theme Park, near Tamworth, Gulliver's Kingdom, in Matlock Bath, and the National Space Centre, in Leicester.
Derby Telegraph promotions manager Caroline Lowe said with the offers going right through until September, there would be something for everyone. She said: "We have teamed up with more than 50 different attractions to bring our readers some great family deals in difficult financial times.
"The summer is a wonderful time to get out and about with your family and we hope we can help our readers to do this."
Each day, starting from Monday, the Derby Telegraph will print one token in every copy of the paper.
Readers can collect these tokens and use them with the entry forms of their choice, with different ones being printed each day.
Entry forms for Drayton Manor, Twycross Zoo, in Warwickshire, and Waterworld, in Staffordshire, are among those available in the first week.
Reader Paul Stretton, 58, of Oxford Street, Church Gresley, said he was looking forward to taking advantage of the offer so he could treat four-year-old granddaughter Lucy.
He said: "A family day out with plenty of activities means a lot to me and my family so it will be great to enjoy these and save money at the same time."
Laura Greaves, assistant marketing manager at Crich Tramway Village, which has also teamed up with the Derby Telegraph, said the summer was the ideal time for bargains. She said: "The atmosphere at the village is wonderful and there's plenty to see and do."
Andrew Pugh, managing director of the Heights of Abraham, in Matlock, said: "We hope readers take advantage of the offer to come and visit us.''
Steve Hamilton, general manager of discovery centre Conkers, in Moira, said: "I know how important it is to take the kids out and these offers are the perfect way to do this."
