Firefighters rescue women from lift
TWO women had to be rescued by firefighters after they became trapped in a lift that was stuck between floors.
Crews were called to the Hawthorn Court retirement flats in Kedleston Road, Derby, at 2.40pm yesterday.

They freed the women, who were unhurt, and left at 3.10pm.
In a separate incident, firefighters had to free a small child whose fingers had become stuck in a door.

The incident happened at 4.25pm yesterday in Newhall Road, Swadlincote.
The child did not need hospital treatment.
And a third incident saw crews called to rescue a dog that had become trapped in brambles in a bush in Draycott Road, Sawley, at 3.55pm yesterday.
The dog had been freed by its owner prior to the crew's arrival and they left at 4.10pm.
