Firms fear EU is out of bounds
A NEW survey has highlighted barriers to firms wanting to export goods to Europe.
The survey, carried out by the British Chambers of Commerce, found 29% of firms that do not export to EU member countries fear they have the wrong product for these markets and 28% cite difficulties finding customers.
David Hood, head of international trade at Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber, said: "In a good many cases it is simply a matter of companies getting the right information to target their goods and services properly.
"But this survey found a significant number of exporters claim never to have used the chamber, UKTI or any other source of information to explore exporting opportunities.
"We're here to help and often what we have to offer is without charge or subsidised."
