SIXTY employers in Derbyshire have been recognised for volunteering their time to help students.

Events took place in Derby and Chesterfield to thank firms for supporting the Derbyshire Education Business Partnership.

Certificates were presented to the companies for providing a range of support, including mentoring, providing schools with curriculum activities and offering work placements.

Partnership manager John O'Callaghan said: "We really couldn't provide work-related support to students without the help of the employers."

The scheme is run by Connexions Derbyshire.
