PERMISSION has been granted to demolish a factory to make way for flats.

The plans were submitted to Derby City Council last year by Mr Chohanto to build seven flats on land at 133 Rutland Street in the city.

Several objections were lodged by neighbouring residents who were concerned that the flats could overlook their homes and cause a loss of privacy.

However, council officers have approved the plans.
