DERBY County Ladies face Blackburn Rovers in the Premier League on Sunday still frustrated by the late postponement of their trip to Nottingham Forest last weekend.

The Rams are to submit an official complaint to the FA after their East Midlands rivals gave them less than four hours' notice before calling off the game last Sunday.

They cited "electrical problems" as their reason to postpone the fixture.

But with the men's teams playing each other in a televised game an hour earlier, Derby questioned the decision.

"Forest had already asked if we could either bring the game forward or postpone but I declined," said Rams boss John Bennett

"Our girls are in a routine of the match being a 2pm kick-off every Sunday and with a lot having to get back to university for Monday morning, I decided to stick with the scheduled kick-off time.

"Forest weren't happy about this and it came as no surprise when the game was called off.

"They called it off mid-morning, around 10.30am, and I then had to phone one of our players who lives the other side of Coventry to make sure that she hadn't set off.

"The FA have asked for evidence regarding the electrical problems and we've left it in their hands.

"For me, the league need to make a stance against this if it is proved that there was no electrical problem in Nottingham.

"We could easily have called off our league game against Wolves the other week when we only had 10 players but we didn't.

"For us, it is terribly frustrating as we were on a bit of a run."

Bennett will have Michelle Kilmartin and Annabel McKechnie available again after they missed the Sporting Albion tie a fortnight ago.

The game kicks off at Borrowash Victoria's ground at 2pm.
