Fulham boss Martin Jol one of 10 with eyes on Will Hughes
TALENTED midfielder Will Hughes is being closely watched by up to 10 Premier League clubs, according to Fulham boss Martin Jol.
Fulham are monitoring the progress of the 17-year-old Derby County player whose future is the subject of growing speculation with the January transfer window only days away.

Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool are also said to be interested in the Academy product, who has started all but one of Derby's 24 League games this season.

"Believe me, there are probably 10 clubs in the Barclays Premier League having a look at him," said Jol.
"He is one of these wonderful talents, so he is always on lists.
"If you have a good scouting system, he will always be on the list but we will see."
Central midfielders Mousa Dembele, Danny Murphy and Dickson Etuhu all left Fulham in the summer and Mahamadou Diarra is soon to head off to the African Nations Cup with Mali.

“Its inevitable he will go, the board need to get as much as possible as he is going to be a fantastic player as he develops. At least 5 mill or dont sell. We need to add 2 or 3 players with the money!!!”

“I also think its inevitable that Hughes will go sadly. He is inconsistent though, and hardly featured yesterday. If we are able to maximise his value and reinvest, this may be a good thing. However, with the current owners, I fear the majority of his fee would go towards the "management" fee. Coutts was outstanding yesterday, and I wouldn't be surprised if there were similar stories about him soon.”

“I for one hope he is sold in the next few weeks as I see it this is the only way we will get the players we need.
Please spend the money on players with a bit of pace this time nige”

“PS Does anyone know anything about the manager's son, 15 year-old William? Apparently, he's progressing very nicely under the radar in our Academy. I remember Nigel playing under an assumed name for Forest's A team as it was in those days, for two years or so to keep him "hidden". And William's sister, Helena, 12, is in the Derby County Ladies set-up. Anyone got any more news?”

“Worth £10 million today? He'll be worth £15 million in the summer. He'll be worth £20 million in the summer following. We should be aiming to be in the Premier League by the summer of 2014 with Hughes still in the team. Then if any wheeling and dealing needs to be done, players like Hendrick, Bryson and Ward could probably be sold at that time for about £3 million each. Simple!”

“If reports are accurate we actually sold Shackell for a profit to the only club who were interested in buying him, the manager was then given the money to spend. So how did we 'sell him for peanuts'? When we bought him the only other club who were interested was Burnley so clearly other managers don't rate him that highly. He was sold for what the market thought he was worth, not a penny less.”

“Have Lowly Fulham got the ready cash that the Rams would require for the sale of Will Hughes?
Would Will want to go to a second rate Club like Fulham, although I suppose he would stand a better chance of regular first team football.
If Crystal Palace are looking for ten million for their star player, that has got to be the benchmark for what the Rams want. god forbid that the board let him go for peanuts like they did with Shackell.
Have the Rams got a ready and better replacement, should Will be transferred?
I would Suggest that the Club should keep him until the end of the season and this give everyone time to sit back and study all the bids from these so called ten clubs who are busy studying him.
I would also suggest that as many supporters as possible turn up at the January forum with the new Chief Executive and throw as many questions at him as possible.”

“Will Hughes signing a contact recently will help us and him command higher fees, you would love to think he is the future of DCFC, we are never going to be anything more than mid table under Clough, so he needs to move on, how sad, very sad.”
