Gang attack with wine bottle leaves Allestree victim suffering serious eye injuries
A 33-YEAR-OLD man suffered serious facial injuries after being hit by a bottle when he confronted a gang of youths.
The attack happened in Bancroft Drive, Allestree, 5.35pm on Sunday.
Police say the victim spoke to five youths who were in an alleyway and challenged their behaviour.
After an argument one of the youths hit him on the head with a full wine bottle causing serious eye socket injuries.

The youths ran off towards Kedleston Road.
Anyone who was in the area at the time or who knows anything about the assault should contact the police on 101.
