Gay couples should not be allowed to adopt children
YOUR correspondent, Brian Myring, is right to condemn gay marriage ("Meaning of marriage is being hijacked by new bill", Opinions, February 23).
I have been campaigning locally and to the Government on this emotive subject and, to its credit, it has responded to all of my letters.
On a slightly different tack, I don't agree that gay couples should be allowed to adopt children.
Upbringing under this situation will be biased one way or the other. Children should always be brought up in a heterosexual family atmosphere.

“"Upbringing under this situation will be biased one way or the other"
Do you mean more biased than you? A person's sexuality is predetermined, being raised by gay parents does not make a child gay - if that were so then all children rased by heterosexual parents should be heterosexual!
Gay couples are equally capable of providing a loving, stable home for an adopted child, and surely that is what is important.”
