'Great news' for Alzheimer's charity on funding support

A CHARITY that helps people suffering from dementia and their carers has revealed it has received funding to continue its work.

The Alzheimer's Society Derbyshire has announced it is to have continued funding from Derbyshire County Council and the NHS.

This means the society will continue to offer a range of support for people affected by dementia.

Stephen Tomlinson, the society's group facilitator, said: "This is great news as we have built up a number of support services over the last year, through memory cafés, carer support groups and a number of carer information programmes.

Sinead McGregor, support worker for Erewash, said: "The more support we can give to carers and those with dementia, the longer they can be supported in their own homes."
