AN EXTRA £25,000 is needed to complete a reroofing project at a Derby primary school.

The work at Brookfield Primary School, in Mickleover, was originally estimated to cost £150,000.

But additional funding will be needed after detailed design work highlighted additional structural changes required to make the school more environmentally-friendly.

This will include more efficient lighting and a temperature-activated ventilation system, instead of opening rooflights.

The council's children and young people's budget will have to be amended to include the additional cost.

This is expected to be approved at next Tuesday's council cabinet meeting.
