GRESLEY manager Gary Norton was "ecstatic" after being handed a home draw in the quarter-final of the FA Vase.

Norton's men will face either Brighton-based Whitehawk or north-east side Marske United at the Moat Ground on Saturday, February 27.

Whitehawk, top of Sussex County League Division One, drew 1-1 with Marske, who are second in Northern League Division Two, on Saturday.

They will replay at Marske's GER Stadium, in Marske-by-the-Sea, Redcar, this weekend.

"I'm delighted with the draw," said Norton, whose side booked their place in the last eight with a 4-3 win at Long Buckby.

"I didn't really mind who we were up against – anyone at home is brilliant.

"It's not so much that we think it will make the game easier. It's more about having our supporters be able to experience a game of this size.

"It is set up for a fantastic afternoon, hopefully with a big crowd to cheer us on.

"Whoever we play, we won't be underestimating them, as any side who gets to the last eight deserves to be there.

"But, at the same time, they will see we have beaten teams from a higher level in the last three rounds, so they will have to respect us too."

If Gresley progress to the semi-final, they will get a further £5,000 in prize money and will be one win away from Wembley.

FA Vase quarter-final draw: Shildon v Chertsey Town or Whitley Bay; Needham Market v Royston Town or Wroxham; Willand Rovers or Barwell v Norton & Stockton Ancients; Gresley v Whitehawk or Marske United.
