GRESLEY'S FA Vase fifth round tie away to Cambridgeshire side St Ives Town is among today's matches involving local teams to have fallen victim to the cold weather.

The decision was taken to call the game off due to a frozen pitch, which was also covered with snow, at Westwood Road.

The match has been rearranged for next Saturday, which means a new date will need to be found for Gresley's Midland Alliance fixture against Willenhall Town.

At the time of going o press, games in the Evo-Stik League involving Mickleover Sports, Matlock Town and Belper Town had been called off, although Ilkeston's game at Romulus, who have an all-weather pitch, had not been postponed.

Anstey Nomads v Borrowash Victoria, Ellistown v Heanor Town and Holbrook Sports v Greenwood Meadows are all off in the East Midlands Counties League.

Long Eaton United's Northern Counties East Premier Division fixture at Barton Town Old Boys was subject to a 10am inspection today.
