Guide dogs work inspired pupils
PUPILS at Derby secondary school were inspired to raise money when they heard about the work of the Guide Dogs for the Blind.
They held a non-uniform day at Noel-Baker Community School in Alvaston and raised £774 for the charity.
They presented a cheque to Terry Prater, who was accompanied by his guide dog, Olivia. Mr Prater had previously given a talk about the work of the Royal National Institute for the Blind and, in particular, the work of guide dogs.
He presented the school with a framed photo of guide dog puppies in recognition of its efforts on behalf of the char-ity.
