THE county council currently has 26 care homes with a 27th on its way to completion in Swadlincote.

The new proposals would, subject to consultation, affect homes in the following ways over the next seven years:

Ada Belfield,Belper: Closed and sold.

Beechcroft, West Hallam: Demolished and replaced by extra care apartments.

Briar Close, Borrowash: Closed and disposed of.

Florence Shipley, Heanor: Demolished and replaced with a new "super care complex".

Hazelwood, Cotmanhay: Demolished and replaced by extra care apartments.

Hillcrest, Kirk Hallam: Closed and sold.

Ladycross House, Sandiacre: Demolished and replaced by extra care apartments.

Rowthorne, Swanwick: Closed and sold.

Southlands, Long Eaton: Closed and sold.

The Dales, Repton: Demolished and replaced by extra care apartments.

The Glebe, Alfreton: Closed and sold.

The Leys, Ashbourne: Closed and sold.

The Willows, Ripley: Closed and sold.
