Half-term fun for disabled youngsters

DISABILITY Direct is running events across Derby this half-term holiday.

The Just Fun project – funded by Derby City Council – runs free activities for disabled youngsters aged 11 to 19.

On Monday at DD Enterprise Centre, 20 Royal Scot Road, Pride Park, youngsters can take part in a science workshop from 10am to noon, including rocket making, and a nature scavenger hunt – making a collage with the finds – from 1pm to 2pm.

On Wednesday, there will be self-protection classes on from noon to 4pm and money management from 4.30pm to 6.30pm. Also on Wednesday, youngsters will be able to take a tour and climb to the top of Derby Cathedral between 9.30am to 11am.
