Half-term kids may be behind bin fires

A BIN was set on fire at Langley Mill railway station yesterday afternoon.

A fire crew from Heanor were called to the incident, in Station Road, at 3.35pm, and put out the flames.

Earlier, at 1.40pm, a recycling bin was on fire in High Street, Melbourne.

A spokeswoman for Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service said the fires may have been started by school pupils on their half-term break.

In the early hours of yesterday, a car fire destroyed a garage in Dean's Drive, Borrowash. The cause of the blaze, which broke out shortly before 2am, is under investigation.
