Helicopter swoops to help with arrest
DERBYSHIRE police's helicopter helped spot a man suspected of stealing thousands of pounds worth of goods and causing damage to four shops in an Ilkeston street.
The alleged offender was spotted by police coming out of a fire exit at the empty Focus DIY store in Waterside Retail Park, Station Road on Thursday night
He was tracked by the helicopter team to a nearby canal towpath where officers made an arrest.
A 25-year-old, of Ilkeston, was last night being questioned and detectives said they are linking the man to a crime spree in the town last Monday.
