THERE is hardly any time before the annual slaughter of seals, mostly pups, will take place in Canada. This terrible nightmare happens so hunters can make money both from the killings and the sale of the pelts for handicrafts, oil, etc.

It has been proven by eye witnesses and video evidence there is a bloodbath on the ice and much suffering as many of the seals are often still alive when skinned.

For years, millions of people around the world have campaigned to end this extreme cruelty and last year's EU ban on seal products will be challenged by Canada.

Canada needs to understand there is never justification for inflicting pain and fear on other living creatures.

Express your concern by writing to James R. Wright, Canadian High Commissioner to the UK, Canada House, Trafalgar Square, London SW17 5BJ. Also boycott goods from Canada.
